The open-ended group

I was bought to digital art lecture today, actually i do not familiar with digital art , however, every piece of their work are impressive. They were showing a new representation of dancing in a digital way and thus create a  new interactive theatre for performers. The strong 3D space constructed by dots and  lines borden my horizon a lot and the works triggered me to know more about them.

The OpenEnded Group is a digital art collective which known for 3D visualizations, advances in dance technology (especially motion-capture), non-photorealistic rendering, and the use of artificial intelligence in art. Their work has been displayed by the Museum of the Modern Image.

Here, i found another talented work from their official website.

Upending(2010) takes the form of live 3D cinema and has the viewers’ eyes probing the projected imagery almost as if touching its light, feeling for the illusory surfaces of things as they cross the threshold from abstraction to likeness. A drama of disorientation and reorientation, Upending is enacted on both perceptual and thematic levels. They developed new methods to expand the possibilities of 3D imagery that includes frameless photography, 3D motion from video and 3D gesture drawing. Here is showing the 3D gesture drawing.

The type pictured above, of children is spinning themselves dizzy. This derives from gesture drawings captured from a tablet, projected into 3D, and transformed along the animation path of an articulated body.
